Job description

Consilium Recruit are delighted to be supporting AMRC Cymru. Based in Broughton, Wales, they are a state-of-the-art manufacturing focused research centre supporting a wide range of industrial partners. They are seeking a Project Manager and offer an excellent range of benefits. This is a one-year Fixed Term Contract position initially.

Commutable from: Wrexham, Chester, Mold, Crewe, Oswestry

Salary: £ 37,099 - £ 45,585 p.a. + Excellent Pension + Hybrid Working + Extensive Benefits including flexible working and extended annual leave.

The Role

AMRC Cymru is a dynamic partnership between the Welsh Government, the University of Sheffield and numerous growth enterprise agencies. They are seeking a Project Manager to join the team at Broughton in Flintshire. You will be part of projects that range in scale and duration but will all focus on developing and demonstrating robust and world-leading methods of manufacture that will be taken from the shop floor and embedded into an industry partner site. You will be supporting an integrated project team built specifically to meet the requirements of the project you are working to deliver. You will be in an environment where you will be required to use your creative thinking and problem-solving skills, combining the development of research and technology theories and applied manufacturing solutions in a non-production environment. As a Project Manager, you will also need to demonstrate an elevated level of capability, facilitating low risk transition of these solutions into AMRC’s industrial partners’ facilities.

For this role, you will need to have experience working as a Project Manager to a reasonable level. If you have experience in an engineering and client-facing environment this would put you at an advantage, but this is not essential.


Key responsibilities include:


The Person

The successful candidate will be degree (or equivalent level/experientially qualified and have previous experience of project management in an industrial/R&D setting.

You will be able to lead and show evidence of previous leadership of short, medium, and long-term projects to an upper level of circa £ 10m. 

Certified in Project Management, you will hold a qualification at PRINCE II, PFQ or PMQ level. Highly conversant with MS office particularly MS-Project, you will be passionate about creating excellent project outcomes with an acute awareness of quality, cost, time, and health & safety requirements.
