Job description

We are looking for a caring and motivational leader for our unique Lone parent service in Wythenshawe. We offer high quality flats to women with a range of mental health support needs. Some women have their children with them and other maintain relationships with children who live in foster care or families. Often women who live in the service are experiencing their first episode of Mental illness and hence support around coping skills, promoting recovery and promoting independence are key.

You will lead a dedicated staff team over a24/7 hour rota to ensure the families are support, safe and progressing to greater independence. There are a wide range of agencies involved in the service to ensure the best links and support. We are looking for a strong partnership worker who has a good understanding of social care, housing and social services systems. The successful candidate will be assert and kind, confident and flexible to the need of vulnerable women we support.

To directly oversee of the Lone parents service for women with children (either with them or not) in Wythenshawe. To ensure safe housing and supportive 24/7 team during a time of change in their lives. Either as new parents or with new and emerging mental health needs. The service is unique in Manchester has run successfully for over 25 years. We offer a range of levels of services to women which include emotional support, practical support with benefits and schools etc, promoting independence skills and coping strategies for their well-being. The service has a strong staff team and a senior role that along with this role ensuring 24/7 support on rota.
