Job description

Job title - Level 3 HGV Technician Apprentice

​Salary - £10.18 per hour plus Veolia benefits (this will increase as of 1st of April)

Location - Ling Hall

Programme Duration - up to 36 months

*Candidate shortlisting will take place w/c 25th March 2024 and assessment days will take place between w/c 1st - 8th April 2024.

Apprenticeship Programme;

During this programme, we'll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to succeed in your career.

With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices, you'll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.

You will also have achieved a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship once you have completed the apprenticeship.

What will you be doing?

- Regular balancing of gas well fields
- Checking gas flare operation
- Scheduled and ad hoc environmental sampling and monitoring
- Regular site checks to ensure leachate wells are compliant, analysis of any problems and correction as required
- Core maintenance of leachate and gas infrastructure
- Installation and servicing of compressors
- Service of pneumatic pumps - Installation of new infrastructure e.g. pumps, etc.
- Minor electrical works (problem identification and isolation).
- Well remediation
- Fusion welding of pipework
- General maintenance of equipment
- Auditing of infrastructure.
- Management of the Leachate Treatment
- Plant, pumping and storage systems where installed

What are we looking for?

- A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade 4 (C or equivalent) or above/predicted to include Maths & English

- Full UK driving licence (Desirable)

- Good problem-solving skills

- WIlligness to learn new skills

Assessments
