We are looking for a skilled Cook to join our team at a top-rated restaurant in Oxford. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes that meet our guests' expectations. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the timely delivery of meals to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to our menu and recipes
- Ensure that food is cooked to the right temperature and presented in an appealing manner
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and create new dishes
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Report to the head chef and provide regular updates on kitchen operations and performance metrics
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen
- A diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
