Key Responsibilities:
1. Measuring and Calculation: Accurately measure roof or exterior wall dimensions and calculate the required quantities of underfelt tiles, slates, or thatching materials.
2. Material Preparation: Cut wooden battens, felt, and underfelt to the required size, ensuring precision in all cutting tasks.
3. Underlayment Installation: Lay and secure underfelt, and cover it with hot bitumen or other adhesive compounds to create a strong foundation for the roofing materials.
4. Roofing Material Installation: Lay, align, and secure successive overlapping layers of roofing material, such as tiles, slates, or thatching, following industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
5. Sealing and Waterproofing: Seal the edges of the roof with mortar or other appropriate sealants to ensure watertightness and long-lasting protection.
6. Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of completed roofing projects to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
7. Repairs: Identify and repair any roofing issues, including leaks or damaged roofing materials, to maintain the roof's integrity.
8. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
