The Role

• Management and development of the Process Development Team.

• Leading integrated problem solving activities within the wider business.

• Development and implementation of methods and procedures to incorporate safe, robust operating and control systems in the production of Company materials (both internally and externally).

• Ensuring the processes and methods that are developed deliver the required product certification and quality standards.

• Responsible for on time delivery of Process related deliverables within the NPD process; including ensuring robust scale up, product equivalency, and process optimization.

• Ensuring Process Control Plans and PFMEAs, are in place and used effectively within the business.

• Responsible for ensuring impacts of process parameters on final products are fully understood (at various scales), and use this knowledge to develop specifications for manufacture internally and at licensee or contract manufacture partners.

• Managing implementation of upstream processes, identified in collaboration with the Engineering Department, at new manufacturing partners/licensees.

• Working with the Product Development team to transfer robust products into scaled, robust production pipelines. Including providing downstream technical support where required.

• Leading a team to implement process innovation work packages designed with, and informed by the Engineering Department.

• Significant cross-department collaborative working required, predominantly with the Product Development team and Operational (inc. Quality) teams.

Experience

• Extensive people management experience and the proven ability to grow a successful team.

• Experience of planning, resourcing and delivering multiple projects to schedule.

• A strong EHS mindset with awareness of process safety.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.

• Experience of designing experiments.

• A desire to work collaboratively, building effective relationships across the business.

• An enthusiasm for Company’s mission of addressing plastic pollution, and an interest in sustainability.

• The right fit for a small, science-led, innovative team and a high level of autonomy, creativity and independence.
