Job description

Our client is a market leading Top 10 firm of chartered accountants based in the Guildford area with a very strong reputation and national presence. We are recruiting for a Tax Manager to join their fantastic tax team in an exciting and progressive position.

This role will provide tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients. The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients. There will be an opportunity to get involved in a variety of areas and the business will provide support and training to develop your knowledge and skills in more technical areas.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee tax services and compliance processes and provide advisory services to a wide range of clients (personal and corporate).
• Opportunity to support in niche advisory areas based on experience/ aspirations.
• Manage a substantial portfolio of interesting clients.
• Develop professional relationships with clients and within the business.
• Guide and supervise less experienced colleagues.
• Support train mentor and advise others.
• Challenge current practice drive improvements and champion change.
• Lead on complex projects.
  

Requirements

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  
• Exposure to multiple sectors would be advantageous
  
• Previous corporate tax or mixed tax experience in a similar role within a practice environment is essential
  
• An in depth up to date knowledge of taxation with the ability to deal with complex tax issues
• Project and staff management experience
• Ability to manage a substantial client portfolio
• Demonstrable post qualified experience
