We are MHRA compliant and are waiting UKAS accreditation notification. We have unsociable hours and a locally agreed fixed payment for night shifts.An enhanced relocation package may be available. You will play an integral part in helping to train our junior staff to develop their skills and careers. We have a well-designed, up-to-date lab with Grifols analysers in blood transfusion, blood track and Contronics temperature monitoring system. In haematology and coagulation we have Sysmex XNs and ACL TOPS. For quality management we use Q-Pulse system. We are also in the process of upgrading our existing LIMS system (winpath enterprise). About our Pathology Service Specialist Biomedical Scientist Job Information You will enjoy a varied range of responsibilities from maintaining the quality management system and UKAS accreditation, training of less experienced members of staff, validating and authorising results and most importantly providing quality service for our patients. You will be expected to resolve complex equipment or process problems and perform manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations, including specialist investigations, within defined service area accurately and efficiently. You will participate in the day to day management of stock control and usage. This may include maintaining Blood Transfusion and Haematology stock levels and records and monitor usage to ensure efficient use where appropriate.
