Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Supervising children play time.
- Delivering high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0 – 5 years.
- Ensuring that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
- Developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.
- Be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Deputy Nursery Manager/Nursery Manager to complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.
- Engaging children in learning and play activities.
- Keeping and updating records.
- Maintaining a high standard of operation.
- Attending staff meetings.
- To keep a record of achievement file on children, for parents/carers.
- Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g., preparation of snacks and equipment.
- Recording accidents in the accident book.
- To contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children.
The training you will be getting
- At the end of the apprenticeship you will achieve Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) along with English and maths Functional Skills if you don't already have them.
- You will complete your training at Rose Villa Day Nursery, Church Chare, Whickham , Newcastle upon Tyne, NE16 4JF
- Training will be one day per week
