Interventional Radiology forms part of our major trauma centre at UHCW, helping to serve our community for elective and emergency procedures. We can be found on the ground floor, within the radiology department which forms a huge speciality hub at UHCW. We have an enthusiastic and ambitious nursing team, including the first Interventional Radiology Advanced Nurse Practitioner- Daisy award winner Yossi Sahin. Working in IR offers an exciting and diverse development programme which includes conscious sedation administration, recovery skills, post graduate level 7 opportunities and advancing career pathways. Will take management responsibility for an identified area on regular shifts. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust’s Critical Care Unit is committed to ensure that we provide a first class service to our patients. We are looking for dynamic, focused, strong and flexible Nurses to join the Interventional Radiology and help us continually improve and change the unit to meet the needs of the patients that we care for. Pre, peri and post procedural care of patients having day case or inpatient procedures in. The peri procedural care of a patient will include learning to administer conscious sedation for more complex procedures as well as the appropriate level of monitoring. The use of lead protection is required during interventional radiology procedures. The successful applicant will provide on call rotational shifts to provide a 24 emergency service as part of UHCW major trauma service.
