Job description

Hours: 37 hours per week / Hybrid working (3 Days in the office, 2 days working from home)

Are you an ambitious technical coordinator passionate about the Wastewater sector? Join us for an opportunity offering stability and work-life balance. We're seeking a talented Technical Coordinator to join our Wastewater Technical Team.

Previously, we outsourced this service, but we're now transitioning it to an internal function. With the team now operating within Southern Water's broader framework, there are increased opportunities for learning, growth, collaborative work, and meaningful impact.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll manage technical information for wastewater connection applications, liaising with various stakeholders. This role involves bridging the gap between internal jargon and customer needs within our Developer Services team.

During your first couple of months of training you will be working at our head office in Durrington every day. Once completed, you will enjoy flexible working arrangements, working from home 2 days and coming to the office 3 days a week. You can choose to drive as we have lots of parking spaces or take public transport as we are located walking distance to local bus stops and train stations.

In this exciting position, you'll be at the forefront of managing technical information flow across multiple projects, ensuring the timely delivery of crucial wastewater connection schemes. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and approving architect's and engineer's drawings, while maintaining strong external relationships to enhance regional performance and minimize issues. You'll also be liaising with planning authorities and various departments to uphold compliance with planning conditions and Health and Safety standards, facilitating seamless project progression.

Additionally, you'll address regulatory matters and progress applications to ensure uninterrupted customer project progression. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing technical approval for wastewater connection designs, with the flexibility to adjust specifications as necessary. Under the guidance of our esteemed Technical Manager, you'll provide essential application management support and assistance to the team, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow.

Ideal candidates for this role should possess a strong educational background, with A level and Engineering Degree qualifications considered desirable. Additionally, qualifications such as APM or Prince certification are preferred, showcasing proficiency in project management methodologies. Familiarity with SMSTS/CDM standards is also advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance within project environments. While these qualifications are desirable, we also value candidates with relevant experience and a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.

If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact in urban development and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply and be part of our dedicated team driving excellence forward.
