Welcome Manager

National Trust

Location

Wellesbourne, Warwickshire | United Kingdom

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to lead a small team of welcome staff and volunteers at property. As Welcome Manager, you will head up the staff & volunteer team in Visitor Reception. You'll lead and empower your team to respond to customer enquiries and site issues and be the face of the National Trust in all things visitor operations.

Leading for membership recruitment, you'll grow support for our work, both in terms of engagement and our financial targets. You’ll be experienced in managing people, delivering outstanding customer service and able to respond to operational challenges.

You'll be required to work regular weekend and Bank Holidays.

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave.  At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust’s annual pay review process.

Working closely with the Partnership and Programming team, you'll help deliver and promote our calendar of events and seasonal programming to visitors.

Charlecote Park is a lively property where there's always something new happening. Reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, you'll be part of the Visitor Experience team. You'll line manage a small team of regular Visitor Welcome and Service Assistants, as well as our team of Service Assistants who work flexibly across the week, and our Visitor Reception and Car Park volunteers.

You’ll have overall responsibility for the Visitor Welcome team, and their safety and working practices, working closely with the Senior Visitor Experience Officer to maintain standards.

You'll have responsibility for the day to day operation of Visitor Reception and ensure the delivery of the highest standards of service and visitor experience, using good judgement and decision making, in line with National Trust guidelines and policies. You’ll be using your creativity and communication skills both to inspire and motivate your staff and volunteers, and to help provide the friendly face of the National Trust to thousands of visitors and promote membership and growing support. You'll be applying your high level of competence to deal with service recovery. You'll engage with all our visitors to inspire support through membership, and help visitors to enjoy their stay. You'll lead the team to deliver our 'Doing Busy Well' plan, to ensure that on our peak days we are providing the best service in the most efficient way.

Part of the duty management rota, you'll act as point of contact for members of staff on a nominated day, providing briefings, and elements of opening and closing the property.

We'd love to hear from you, if you have:
