Junior/Graduate Civil & Structural Engineer
Location: Warrington

The Role & Responsibilities:
Supporting the Engineering and Design team, you will have the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge throughout all disciplines, available to you within the Engineering department. You will do this by rotating through each discipline on a time period basis as detailed below equating to three years:
- Civil and Structural Engineering – You will spend roughly 50% or 18 months of your placement within your respective discipline, working on all aspects of the field, specifically to learn the engineering works required in brownfield plant modifications, inspections and project works. You shall also work on both FEED and detailed designs for both single discipline and EPC / EPCM projects.
- Mechanical and Piping Engineering – You will spend six months with the Mechanical and Piping Engineering and Design team, you will gain experience in Mechanical equipment engineering, piping and pipe stress analysis, Mechanical design and modelling, Laser scanning and 3D model creation for both single discipline and EPC/ EPCM projects.
- Engineering Project Management – You will spend six months with the Engineering Project Management team, you will gain experience in budget and programme control including awareness of earned value, contracts and learning from experience factors in both single and multi-discipline engineering projects
- Process Engineering – You will spend one month with the Process Engineering and Design team, working on both FEED and detailed designs for both single discipline and EPC / EPCM projects.
- EC&I Engineering – You will spend one month with the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering and Design team, you will gain experience across all three inter-discipline activities along with some experience in automation and process control philosophies
- Bilfinger Europe – You will spend one month with our Engineering and Design teams in the Netherlands, Europe, you will gain experience in the close working procedures between the UK and Europe and how Engineering and Design are applied in different countries
- Engineering Proposal – You will spend one month in engineering proposals supporting the proposals manager in delivering both single and multidiscipline Engineering proposals. You will learn about estimating and how to generate proposals from Client scopes, this will include learning about proposal writing and generating assumptions and exclusions for the basis of the offer
Your profile:
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you
- Graduated from University with a relevant Engineering degree BEng / MEng in Civil / Structural Engineering within the last two years
- Sound knowledge of Civil and Structural engineering and design, and any knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Mechanical, Piping, EC&I and Process) is advantageous
- Because of the variety of projects that we execute, we are looking for both experienced and less experienced graduates.
- Keen to learn and expand knowledge and learn how to work as an effective team in a highly skilled multi-discipline Engineering and Design organisation
- A willingness to travel and visit sites, offices and where applicable other countries
