What You’ll Accomplish
- Drive RF backend design and architecture activities for the RF and microwave delivery system.
- You will be responsible for RF aspects of the design, simulation, testing approaches/methodology, integration, verification, and testing.
- Write the documentation of your RF and microwave circuits and verification tests.
- Develop your experience in a broad range of electronics engineering subject areas.
- Maintain multidisciplinary collaboration with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists, working towards a common goal.
- Maintain UQs’ position in using state-of-the-art electronics solutions.
- Help in the planning and scheduling of projects, reporting progress and issues.
- Engage with project planning activities, risk management and scheduling requirements.
- Help with fast turn-around proof of concepts and feasibility discussions.
Requirements
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates
- RF backend design experience (VHF – X-band).
- Hands-on experience in designing complex commercial RF systems from concept through delivery within a PCB environment.
- Skilled at FEA tools, preferred experience with Ansys Maxwell and HFSS.
Must-have Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ practical/hands-on experience in MW/RF (VHF – X-band) design.
- Experience developing and executing test plans and approaches on complex RF systems.
- Experience with low-noise design approaches and techniques.
- Experience in testing low-noise RF systems.
- Proven track record of bringing MW/RF subsystem designs to market.
- Skilled at FEA tools, preferred experience with Ansys Maxwell and HFSS.
- Experience working with suppliers and contractors.
- Demonstrate a strong discipline for thorough documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Team Player.
- At least 2.1 BEng/BSc Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Analogue design experience.
- PCB design experience (VHF-X-band).
- Experience with RF vendor supply chain.
- Pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices.
- Team and/or project management experience.
