The role
This new role of Item Master List Specialist presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on procurement within a dynamic veterinary group, both in the UK and across Europe.
The item master list specialist will play a vital part in the procurement departments ambition to provide industry leading procurement support to our veterinary practices, by helping create and maintain our product Item Master List within a new ERP system. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will work as part of a small but experienced procurement team and you will have the ability to significantly influence the performance of the group across many areas.
Objectives
- Play a pivotal role in the development of the new Item Master List within Medivet’s new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Support the delivery of exceptional clinical care within our practices, by ensuring accurate maintenance of the item master list in the ERP and providing a seamless P2P experience for our colleagues in clinic, whilst helping cost saving initiatives driven by the procurement department.
- Create the item master list (IML) in the new ERP system.
- Maintain the IML by adding, removing or modifying products.
- Maintain the accuracy of all data entry and updates.
- Proactively communicate with suppliers or other stakeholders to collect timely data.
- Facilitate technological integration of the ERP with supplier systems and processes, to drive close to real time data exchange.
- Act as a super user for the purchase to pay (P2P) module and any associated software’s and provide training on the P2P module to the group when needed.
- You will be the primary contact for item master list related queries.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to develop the IML and ERP
- Be responsible for the vendor due diligence and onboarding processes and work with the master data maintenance manager to rationalise the supplier list.
Your skills and experience
- Requires someone who is meticulous with detail and highly process driven, with proven organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritise workload and programme of work which impacts across the business.
- Able to provide advice and information in a patient, polite and courteous manner.
- Ability to complete tasks to deadlines and to the specified standard.
- Demonstrable and generate solutions to complex problems
- Advanced level in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
- Excellent organisational skills coupled with the ability to multitask, always ensuring a flexible approach to the workplace.
- A great team player with an open and welcoming personality.
- Ability to work with an ERP system or similar is essential.
- Excellent business and interpersonal communication skills in both written and verbal.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the veterinary industry or a similar clinical organisation
- At least 3 years’ procurement experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets.
- Previous experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferable.
