Job description
Responsible for assessing and organising the accommodation of emergency, elective, clinic admissions and transfers from other hospitals within timescales directed by the Trust and Government. Responsible for co-coordinating the flow of patients from ED to all assessment areas within 0-4 hours. Collate and analyse bed management information, in order to provide accurate assessments of current bed availability and demand. Take the lead to collate information pertaining to infection control issues in the absence of the Infection Control Team. Input live data, into a database, including resource and demand, to enable Region to make informed decisions regarding sharing of emergency workload and prioritising elective programmes. Responsible for providing information and action plans for the cancellation of non-urgent elective admissions in liaison with patients, consultants and ward managers. Responsible for providing the Trust with an Escalation status three times daily, initiating the steps in the plan - giving options and solutions for actual and potential problems.
