Job description

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire
Days & Hours:

Week 1: Saturday, 08.30am - 5.30pm
Week 2: Monday and Wednesday, 7am-12pm and 2pm-6pm
School Holidays, as above but on Week 2 the hours will be: Monday and Wednesday, 8am - 6pm
Cover for staff absences
Pay: £15.00 per hour, Weekdays, £16.00 per hour, Weekends and £31.00 per hour, Bank Holidays

Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work)
Driving Clients Car? Yes, our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), manual
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty and to attend training
Essential Experience: Complex medical needs
Desirable: Experience working with young adults with trauma and an interest in therapy
Pets: 1 cat.
Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home.

Introducing Rosie
Rosie born in 2006 lives with her parents and younger brother in Daventry. The family home has been adapted to meet her needs, including a sensory garden area, downstairs playroom with adjoining adapted bathroom and a through floor lift. Rosie attends school in Rugby, Monday - Friday. The care team assist in transporting Rosie to and from school.

When not at school, Rosie enjoys going on her trampoline at home and swimming. She currently loves Mickey Mouse and watching it on TV. Rosie likes to rock vigorously to self soothe, this is undertaken in a safe and controlled environment to ensure her safety. She also likes to receive sensory feedback from ribbons, lights, push buttons and music. Rosie has cerebral palsy and medication-controlled epilepsy and she underwent a kidney transplant in May 2022. She also has global developmental delay, limited mobility and autistic tendencies.

Your role will be to support Rosie during the day within the home and community. She requires support to remain safe and healthy and consistent implementation of therapy programmes and recommendations to help her reach her full physical and cognitive potential. You will support Rosie with Moving and Handling - she uses a wheelchair and has specialist equipment to assist with transfers, routines and personal care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special young lady. A truly rewarding role for someone who is able to communicate effectively and an ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.

Pay and Benefits:
£15.00 per hour, Weekdays, £16.00 per hour, Weekends and £31.00 per hour, Bank Holidays
On-going training & support provided
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
Free DBS check.

In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department
