Job description
Dual Skilled Technician 6 month rolling contract Northampton Depot 4/5 on / off days and nights shift pattern.To undertake modification of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot on the 319 / 350 Fleets.Principal AccountabilitiesWorking as part of the Engineering team, this challenging role involves mechanical and electrical - rewiring, gearboxes, mod repairs.Supporting with the completion of repairs, modifications, commission within a well-equipped rolling stock depotWith minimal supervision undertake Modification of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the modification and production planCarry out post modification testing and advanced fault finding and diagnostic activitiesUndertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification workKnowledge & ExperienceMust have relevant experience in an electrical engineering environmentAbility to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to proceduresUnderstands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriateKnowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic purposesAbility to understand and interpret relevant technical publicationsExperience in testing and fault findingAbility to fully read and understand complex electric circuit diagramsAbility to produce technical reportsSiemens supports applications from a diverse talent pool.
