We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a forever expanding primary school in Newport.

Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Newport Gwent

Contract: Full-Time (Monday to Friday 08:30 - 15:30, term time only)

Pay Rate: £11.85 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to children with additional learning needs across various year groups (mainly within Foundation Phase)
- Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for the specific pupils that you will be supporting. This will include reviewing previous targets, assessing progress, and developing new targets for the pupils.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions.
- Encourage independence and confidence with the pupil and support their social and emotional development

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with additional learning needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Pro-active attitude and willingness to contribute to the overall school community.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students and work across different year groups.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to the welfare and development of all students.

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced child only DBS Certificate that is registered on the update service
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council
- 2 Professional Based References
