Teacher of French

Brighton College Prep Kensington

Location

Westminster, Greater London | United Kingdom

Job description

Brighton College Prep Kensington opened in South Kensington in September 2023. A member of the outstanding Brighton College Family of schools, we seek outstanding and inspirational teachers and leaders with a demonstrable passion for their subject.

We seek to appoint an exceptional candidate to teach French throughout the school (Nursery to Year 8) and who will be willing to make a wide contribution to the life of this busy, ambitious and exciting school. The ability to teach Spanish would be an advantage.

The position would suit a teacher with senior school experience, as well as those with experience teaching children of prep school age (2-13 years), whether as a newly qualified teacher (NQT), teaching for a number of years or new to teaching. The department includes a French specialist, a Mandarin specialist and a Spanish specialist. Children may also learn Latin in the Upper Prep.

Our graduating children will take Common Entrance and Scholarship exams to leading senior schools at the end of Year 8. The ability to teach to scholarship level in French and/or Spanish would be a significant advantage.

Brighton College Prep Kensington is a busy prep school and we expect all colleagues to embrace all aspects of our school. This includes being involved in House competitions, attending Open Mornings and accompanying children on trips and residential.

Further information is available on the school's website or by contacting  [email protected]

Early applications are encouraged; we reserve the right to appoint an exceptional candidate before the closing date.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Brighton College Prep Kensington is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils. The successful applicant will be required to undergo appropriate child welfare screening including checks with former employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). The School is an equal opportunities employer.
