Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for An Operations Manager who is needed to lead and coordinate our furniture manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes and maintaining a high standard of product quality.
Initially working alongside a company director, this Senior Manager will liaise directly with clients, advise on processes, costings and oversee the smooth operation of all projects, from initial quotes/orders through to install.
- Manage and direct the production department
- Ensure efficient production processes and high-quality output
- Develop and implement operational strategies and goals
- Lead and Oversee the budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing in the department
- Identify and implement improvements to production processes and operations
- Ensure all operations adhere to health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with other departments to achieve company objectives
- Lead, motivate and support a skilled team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment
- Position yourself to succeed the current Managing Director in the near future
- Direct customer liaison - managing a constructive relationship through trading and building on strong working relationships with existing clients
- Identifying, negotiating and running significant ordering through the supply chain.
- Managing multiple projects
- Reporting of financial performance and projections to the Company Directors.
- Integrating working practices with existing company systems and further developing office management tools for greater efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
This leadership position will ideally require a strong and diverse knowledge of the furniture production sector and a practical understanding of manufacture. This is a pivotal role working alongside the Company Directors and within an existing management team.
A creative strategic vision, articulate communication and strong administrative skills will be essential, while an ability to manage a team demonstrating an empathetic understanding of clients, suppliers and colleagues alike.
As Operations Manager you will have the following:
- An engineering or manufacturing related qualification, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in a managerial role within an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably within the furniture sector
- Strong understanding of production processes and operational management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in budgeting, planning and reporting
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the industry
- Demonstrate the capability to grow a SME Manufacturing company
- Exposure to the furniture sector would be advantageous
- Show a clear capability to move into a Board position in the near future
