Job description
Lakeside View is a 30 bedded hospital in Willenhall that cares for patients who are 18 years and over in an acute setting.
Finch Ward - 13 bedded male acute ward
Robin Ward - 8 bedded male acute ward
Swan Ward - 9 bedded female acute ward
The aim at Lakeside View is to provide a person centred approach and therapeutic environment, which promotes collaborative care planning to optimise treatment goals. Right from the point of admission to our acute services, our aim is to support patients to be discharged safely back into the community where they can continue to progress towards recovery in a less restrictive environment.
This will be achieved by:
- Thorough assessment of individuals needs throughout admission
- Person centred collaborative treatment plans
- A range of interventions available from a diverse MDT
- Being cared for in the least restrictive environment
- Effective liaison and joint working with Locality team.
Job Advert Role Description
We are seeking a Fixed term, part time Senior Occupational Therapist for our Acute service. Role will be working with male and female patients. Fixed term contract due to start beginning of April 2024 and end February 2025.
Key Duties: 1. To work within the multidisciplinary teams across the three wards, managing a defined caseload of service users providing:
- Core occupational therapy assessments,
- Treatment planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic interventions to enable the services users to work towards recovery, a valued lifestyle and aim for optimum level of functional ability
- OT interventions with minimal supervision
2. Overseeing and ensuring the Therapy Service provision across the three wards, ensuring these meet the needs of the patients.
- Providing management supervision, guidance and support to Therapy Team staff.
3. To offer a wide range of therapeutic activities and plan for interventions specific to the needs of the patient across the three wards.
Role requirements:
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
- Significant experience of working in complex mental health settings supporting vulnerable adults who present with a wide range of issues.
- Significant experience in occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, delivery and evaluation in a mental health setting with minimal supervision
