As our Procurement Manager (Operational Services) you’ll be working closely with the Commercial Procurement Leadership Team and across the wider business in the development and delivery of Supply Chain and Procurement Strategy. We have ambitious plans for significant investments in our region. Your role will be to ensure our sourcing and category management delivers effective supplier performance across £200m of critical operational services.
You’ll identify opportunities for reducing risk and adding value throughout Anglian Water, developing and using market intelligence to improve our operational performance. You’ll lead a team in developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating contractual terms and cost controls, and ensuring our business customers get what they need.
You’ll need to work within Anglian Water’s own processes and controls as well as Utilities Procurement regulations, ensuring compliance and driving good practice in sourcing and contract management. A key part of this role is to ensure Framework Management processes are implemented and effective so that value from sourcing is delivered into the P&L.
You’ll lead a team of Procurement Professionals, coaching and directing them to develop category plans and effective sourcing strategies.

What does it take to be a Procurement Manager (Operational Services)?
Our successful Procurement Manager will ideally be educated to degree level and either hold or be working towards their CIPS professional standard and membership. You’ll also:
Have strong commercial acumen
Have solid influencing and negotiating skills
Hold proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and coach
Be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Have previous bid assessment experience
Be well aware of European Procurement and other relevant legislation
Have a strong level of mathematical reasoning
Have good organisation skills
Have strong IT skills
Have excellent communication skills
