JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION - Portsmouth TERM - Permanent SALARY - £30,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience (please advise what you’re looking for) My client designs and manufactures engineering components for the Medical and Biopharma industries, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis, in the Portsmouth area. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: • HNC/ HND/ BTEC/ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering • Have experience of using SolidWorks • 3 or more years’ experience working in a similar position • An understanding of fluid mechanics, solid mechanics and statics • Familiar with Engineering and Medical quality standards • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team • The ability to use Microsoft Office programmes • Excellent communication skills The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: • Using SolidWorks CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings and assemblies • Working on the design of new products and assemblies • Being involved in product development – from concept to production • Working on a variety of design projects • Making design assessments and taking measurements • Supporting internal projects from concept through to delivery • Working closely with other departments and team members • Liaising with suppliers as required If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation.
