Location: London, UK – Hybrid Model Working
Full-time, Permanent

This Production Editor role is a fantastic opportunity to work on a highly regarded group of Nature Reviews Journals. The journals are presented in both print and online formats, providing a variety of aspects to the role. You will be working with highly experienced and creative individuals and will also work with a wider network of Editorial, platform and project management teams, as well as external vendors.
As a Production Editor you will be coordinating and managing workflows of print (if applicable) and online scientific/medical journals to agreed deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Quality check editorial supplied content prior to delivery to vendor
- Coordinate the workflow of accepted content through to agreed publication deadlines using production tracking and content management systems as appropriate
- Quality checks all content prior to publication, ensuring content is approved by all stakeholders, feeding back quality issues to the relevant teams
- Coordinate publication schedules for press/priority content
- Maintain journal style and provide advice/information to staff and typesetters on house style
- Compile issues for online/print publication
- Generate run lists and article data for production controllers and other departments
- Processing and publication of post-publication corrections, alongside reporting and advising on workflows
- Support the launch of new titles and the transition of existing titles
- Provide on the job training and support for Production Editors and provide feedback and support for the creation of training documents
- Identify quality issues, take appropriate action and feedback errors to the relevant teams to help improve the quality of content and service provided
- Lead and administrate production meetings with editorial teams (if applicable)

- Print publishing experience
- Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of GSuite
- Web publishing experience and/or familiarity with XML
