- Team Manager - Civil Engineering

We are looking to hire an experienced Civil Engineer, who has proven experience of managing a team. As part of a much larger team based at East Midlands Airport, you will manage circa 4 people, across multiple disciplines - Civils & the Surface Water Drainage Network.
Broadly speaking you will need to ensure that the maintenance elements of the Civils Management Plan are delivered to high and consistent quality standards in accordance with the plan and legal requirements.
You will drive continual improvement with the Civils team and contractors to ensure maintenance is effective and efficient and that maintenance teams are fully supported in terms of logistics, instructions, guidance, access and materials availability.
In addition you will review and drive team performance, and ensure work is distributed and completed to the required standard. Driving performance, delivering support & encouragement, aswell as succession planning and performance reviews will be a significant part of this role.
It is a pre-requisite to have Civils experience, and also to have led a team. It is vital that you are able to jump in if needed, with the ability to lead and motivate with credibility.
Must have experience - NVQ Level 3 to 4 in a civil engineering discipline, or a construction discipline.
Desirable experience - ONC or HNC Level 5, Class 2 Driving, confined space trained.
Land moving equipment driving experience is also desirable.
Lastly, your IT, written and verbal communication skills, aswell as leadership style needs to be strong, to successfully manage the team.
