The Role
Compliance
- Preparation of year end Company and Personal Tax Returns and supporting computations. It is essential that you have a sound and detailed knowledge of both Company and Personal Tax Returns and the completion of same.
- Supervising the control of annual compliance matters, such as Tax Returns, forms P11d’s, tax payment notifications, etcand maintaining software to enable you to do so.
- Supervising staff within the Tax Department.
- Training Staff within the Tax Department.
- Act as the firm’s technical tax adviser to all other departments within the practice.
- Attend to compliance issues relating to HMITTax investigations, Research & Development claims, Capital Allowances Reports.
Planning
- Provide the firm’s Corporate and Personal clients with tax and associated financial planning strategies and services to improve tax efficiency and wealth planning
- Assist with business purchases and sales. The firm is heavily involved in this field and a sound knowledge of the tax implications of share and asset purchases, particularly surrounding goodwill, is essential.
- Corporate restructuring of companies, including de mergersand liaising with HMRCon technical clearance matters.
Essential
- Qualified to CTAlevel or ACA/ACCA with significant experience in tax.
- Knowledge of IRIS systems.
- Previous managerial experience.
General
- You will be working closely with the directors of the company to provide the most efficient tax based advice and services available.
- In your role as Head of Tax, you will be expected to liaise with other department managers for the benefit of the firm overall and assist with its compliance and planning angles.
- You will be in direct contact with clients, including arranging and conducting meetings.
