The Company
A FTSE 250 global utilities group and one of the UK largest employers is keen to attract an Interim Management Accountant to join their finance team, reporting directly to the Lead Management Accountant.
This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of remote and in-office work to provide flexibility and support a healthy work-life balance.
The Role
The management accountant will provide comprehensive accounting support to the business, executing accounting processes and ensuring that appropriate controls are followed at all times. Duties will include;
- Conducting thorough analysis of financial data to provide insights into business performance, trends, and variances. Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management
- Collaborate with various departments to develop and manage budgets. Support the forecasting process to provide accurate and timely financial projections
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Investigate and explain budget variances, providing recommendations for improvement and optimisation of financial performance
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls
The Candidate
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA,ACA,CIMA) is highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and internal frameworks
- Experience of using S4 HANA is preferred
