Job description
Responsibilities: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the cost aspects of our new build housing projects in Cheshire. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and analysing project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Conducting procurement activities, including sourcing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiating and managing subcontractor contracts and agreements.
- Monitoring and controlling project costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Collaborating with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure financial success and adherence to budget.
- Managing and resolving variations and change orders.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of cost control processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the new build housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
Requirements:
- Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and control project costs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
