What you will do in your working day

During the apprenticeship, the Hairdressing Apprentice will engage in a diverse range of tasks on an average day or week:

Client Interaction: Apprentices will interact with clients, assisting with consultations, offering refreshments, and ensuring a welcoming salon environment.

Practical Skill Development: Hands-on learning is vital. Apprentices will practice cutting, styling, and colouring techniques on mannequins and real clients under supervision.

Product Knowledge: Learning about and recommending haircare products, helping clients choose the right products for their hair type and style.

Throughout the apprenticeship, a typical week will involve a mix of client service, skill refinement, and product knowledge development, providing a well-rounded foundation for a successful career in hairdressing.

The training you will be getting

The Hairdressing Professional Apprentice will undergo comprehensive training, leading to a Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals via day release college training.

Qualification: The apprentice will achieve a Level 2 Hair Professional qualification, recognised and accredited within the industry at the end of the apprenticeship. They will also complete a Functional Skills qualification in English and maths if required.

Training Details:

Location: The training will primarily take place at our salon, where you'll receive hands-on experience and mentorship from our expert stylists. Additionally, you will have day-release sessions at college.

Training Schedule: Apprentices will typically follow a one-day-a-week training schedule, ensuring a balanced approach to learning that combines practical salon experience with classroom-based education.
This comprehensive training program is designed to equip our apprentices with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful career in the hairdressing industry.
