Job description
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEMH needs, possess excellent behaviour management skills, and be adept at differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students. The role would start after Easter break on 8th April and run for the summer term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the varying abilities and learning styles of students in the Year 5/6 SEMH class.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity within the classroom, promoting social skills development and emotional regulation.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, behaviour, and attendance in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and a commitment to promoting positive behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, patience, and resilience in addressing the challenges associated with working with students with SEMH needs.
