As a Test Engineer here at the DVLA, you will be part of a squad where you will plan, design and execute testing, which includes functional and non-functional, application and infrastructure testing across Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:

• Undertaking static testing by participating in the review of user stories/requirements in order to plan & organise testing, i.e. what will be tested, how and when. Creating and maintaining test packs, both automated and manual (as appropriate).
• Undertaking system testing to ensure that the change being tested is ready to be integrated with other components/systems and that no critical defects will be carried through to integration. (Business Test Analyst only).
• Identifying system defects, prioritising and recording them onto the QE test tools. Managing all defects and retests any fixes applied.
• Providing reports on the changes under test, throughout the whole test lifecycle, escalating issues as appropriate.

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.
