This job description has been developed to outline the role of the Maintenance Planner at the Plymouth Terminal, the main role of which is to provide a support service for the Maintenance and Engineering Team. This includes arising and preventative maintenance planning and scheduling, support contract control, spares management, record keeping and document control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance task planning and work order management.
- Owner of the site maintenance management system (MMS).
- Work request approval, updating work orders to accurately reflect current work and reviewing daily new work orders.
- Development and preparation of task work packages.
- Identification and allocation of resources for maintenance activities.
- Liaison with relevant maintenance service providers for required activities obtaining quotes and managing purchase orders
- Spares and consumables control in conjunction with the work requirements.
- Plan, develop and confirm asset inspections and standard work associated with equipment condition.
- Collaborate with the maintenance coordinators and operations department to identify appropriate maintenance schedules to complete activities.
- The development of work packages, ensuring they are available prior to the commencement of maintenance tasks.
- Support maintenance meetings, attending regular management meetings to schedule work orders in the correct time period.
- Ensure that statutory inspections are scheduled and completed to guarantee site compliance as directed by engineering teams.
- Schedule maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to fuel operations.
- Record keeping and document control for maintenance and inspection activities.
- Direct liaison with operational departments ensuring safety documentation is provided on time for works to be completed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Skills:
- Experience of planning and scheduling techniques and the use of tools to manage this.
- Experience of coordinating tasks and resources.
- Computer literacy, MS project, word, excel etc.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a fuel terminal environment.
- Some engineering experience
