Express Recruitment are delighted to be working with one of the East Midland’s leading Civil Engineering consultancies, who boast a team of highly skilled chartered professionals, who continue to provide innovative solutions across a selection of the most complex projects within civil/structural engineering for the last 40 years. 

Due to continued company growth, our client is seeking the services of yet another Senior Civil Engineer. On offer is a generous benefits package which includes a basic salary of up to £48,000, plus a relocation grant, profit share scheme, AXA private healthcare, access to employee assistance programme and ongoing funding rewards professional qualifications and certifications. 

This role is full time, working 40 hours Monday to Friday. You will be mainly based at their modern offices in Derby.  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, detailed concept designs across projects including highway and drainage design 
• Perform a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications 
• Carry out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway carparking and footpath structural pavement designs 
• Prepare Developer enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies 
• Complete S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority 
• Complete S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority 
• Ensure that projects are delivered in adherence to specified budget and timeframes 

Qualifications & Experience   

• Chartered, or working towards Chartership of the Institution of Civil Engineers 
• Expertise in a range of relevant software packages including but not limited to Micro Drainage (WinDes), Civil 3D, and AutoCAD 
• Demonstrable civil engineering experience ranging from residential and drainage schemes to industrial works  
• Knowledge and application of design guides including but not limited to Sewers for Adoption, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), BS 7533, BRE Digest 365, CIRIA C753 (SuDS Manual) 
• An understanding of Section 104, 106 and 185 Agreements and submission criteria for drainage schemes 
• An understanding of Section 38, 184 and 278 Agreements and submission criteria for highways/roads schemes 
• Ability to interpret Ground Investigations, CCTV surveys, Topographical and Services surveys 
• Experience working in collaboration with sub-contractors  
• Capable of working to tight project deadlines
