Job description
1. Provide a leadership role for the PG Cert in Person-Centred Dementia Studies and related postgraduate provision. 2. To deliver and co-ordinate external education provision in locations across the UK and overseas when required. 3. To work with health, care and community organisations in their development of plans for implementing person-centred care through consultancy, training and follow-up. 4. To contribute to external education provision (masterclasses, short courses/CPD and action learning sets) taking a lead on these where appropriate. 5. To develop curricula and education modules within the area of expertise. 6. Actively engage in research and scholarship in the area of dementia within the Association for Dementia Studies, collaborating with other inter-disciplinary research groups across the University. 7. Support applications for external research funding. 8. Supervise post graduate students Masters and PhD (dependent on level of qualification) 9. Develop strong working partnerships with relevant local and national bodies. 10. Accept responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults. 11. Participate fully in the life of the School and University, and carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of School or her/his nominee. 12. Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training. 13. Take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety and well-being and that of other staff and students. 14. Carry out these duties in a manner that promotes equality of opportunity and supports diversity and inclusion and takes into account the University's commitment to environmentally sustainable ways of working.
