For the last 7 years Morrisons has continued to recruit and invest in our Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme and to date we have recruited a total of 107 candidates who are either on their journey to becoming a Multi Skilled Engineer or have successfully completed their course and are working in one of our Manufacturing sites. We have exciting opportunities based out of our North West Manufacturing Site, Northwich.
Gadbbrook
Our purpose-built facility in Gadbrook manufactures, packs and distributes vegetables all from under one roof.
Here at our vegetable pack house, we prepare 29.5 million packs of potatoes and 120,000 tonnes of carrots every year, our 250 colleagues work a 6 day operation, getting everything ready for 90 of our stores.
As an Engineering Apprentice, you’ll work hands on and side by side with our seasoned engineers, mastering the art of maintaining, repairing and improving our machinery. It’s a great opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in engineering while working with a supportive team.
Your daily tasks will include:
By the end of your apprenticeship you will:
✅ Be trained in both mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance
✅ Completed City & Guilds Level 3 in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance
✅ Have strong knowledge of food safety, compliance and processing
This is a 3 year apprenticeship scheme and will include residential block release (up to 20 weeks away from home) for studies and exams. Our apprentice scheme offers a very competitive salary and benefits packages. Not only that, you will have continued development and support through our mentoring and buddy system, offering you the tools to succeed and grow with our business.

In order to be considered for our engineering apprenticeship you must be aged 18 or over and have achieved (or predicted) a Level 6 (Grade B) in Maths and Level 5 (Grade C) in English. It would also be desirable to have a Level 5 (Grade C) in Science.
You’ll have a passion for engineering and a strong desire to learn; problem solving skills and a can-do attitude will get you far in our sites with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
