Job description
As a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) School Nurse, the post holder will work within the School Health and Wellbeing Service (SHWS) as part of the Tower Hamlets GP Care Group integrated 0-19 service to deliver the Healthy Child Programme 5-19. The post holder will provide a comprehensive service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families, applying the principles of positive health and wellbeing and the prevention of ill health with individuals, families, schools and the wider community. The School Nurse will undertake the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for individual school aged children. Reporting to the Team Leader, the School Nurse will support the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective universal and targeted health provision for children and young people attending schools in Waltham Forest.
