Communications, Marketing and Design Assistant
Temporary – up to 2 years until March 2026.
NS4 £23,114 - £23,500
37 hours per week
Following the existing post holder being successfully promoted within the team, we are now recruiting to our Communications, Marketing and Design Assistant post on a temporary basis. You will have the opportunity to gain experience and to work with a range of stakeholders and audiences. In addition, you will be part of a talented, passionate and supportive team.

What will you do?
As part of the role, you will assist with the provision of communication, marketing, and design work for three key areas.
The first is the Palace Theatre’s National Portfolio Organisation. This is an Arts Council England funded programme called Open Doors which aims to increase creative opportunities for young people and underserved groups and become a focal point for culture across Newark and Sherwood.
The second is Newark Creates, a separate arts and cultural programme delivering creative activity in Newark.
The third is to support the Heritage and Culture Business Unit, comprising of Newark Castle, Palace Theatre and National Civil War Centre, with an emphasis on developing their social media.
You will also undertake tasks to support the wider Communications and Marketing team, work on regular and adhoc marketing activity, monitor and deliver social media messaging, and log proactive and reactive media enquiries.
What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
You will have experience in a communications or marketing environment – this could be work or education based, will have experience of working directly with customers or residents, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and enjoy working both within a team and using your own initiative. You will also have a GCSE in English at A*-C/9-4 or equivalent.
