Job description

We are looking to grow our existing Catering team at this prestigious site in Cheltenham.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week (including a 30 minute unpaid break period), Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 3pm.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Adhere to all client and company Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times e.g. Food Handling, Manual handling, Fire procedures, Health & Safety paperwork
Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas ensuring Health and Safety hazards, issues, near misses and accidents are reported to your line Manager at the earliest opportunity
Assist, and if required, supervise the delivery of the food service provision required.
As and when required assist with the planning of food production and process orders via nominated systems and use the correct approved Compass vendors.
Check invoices and delivery notes and report any anomalies using the correct reporting procedure and supervise the receipt, correct storage and quality of commodities and report any concerns or observations.
Ensure the recovery and storage of food and correct labelling procedures are followed
Assist with coaching and mentoring all Apprentice/Trainee Chefs on formal development programmes
Assist with the preparation of all function/hospitality menu costs in accordance with the correct pricing structure and provide in a timely manner to your line Manager and follow all waste control procedures using the Food Production Process (FPP) guidelines

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential Criteria:
Relevant catering experience.
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety
Basic Knowledge of COSH.
Basic Knowledge of due diligence requirements, allergens.
City and Guilds 706/1,2 or NVQ level 2 or equivalent
Basic Food Hygiene - Level 2

Desirable Criteria:
IT literate
Experience within a similar role
City and Guilds 706/3 or NVQ level 3 or equivalent
Knowledge and experience of supervising or managing people
Intermediate Food Hygiene - Level 3
