Job description

Do you have DevOps or software developer experience, and are you seeking a new 6-month contract in Winchester? Skillsearch is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA, and the contract role comes with an attractive daily rate.

You will be the SME in your chosen technology field, contributing to the allied technology stack the company supports. You will participate in the day-to-day workload of the team, utilising Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum.

In your first few weeks in this Database Specialist role, you can expect to:

• Provide Specialist level technical knowledge within the Platform team
• Provide BAU and project support to the Digital Delivery team, ensuring the availability and reliability of the platform
• Assist Platform Engineers with your technical expertise
• Develop and maintain standards and technical/user documentation
• Manage and respond to incidents and requests, reviewing these for enhancements.

To apply for this PostgreSQL DBA role, you will need experience supporting Enterprise IT Platforms on-premises. You will also require the following:

• Excellent hands-on PostgreSQL skills, including deployment and administration using industry-standard best practices
• Advanced PostgreSQL Backup and Recovery, disaster recovery skills including testing recoverability.

You'll receive a contract day rate of up to €650 in return for your knowledge, expertise and flexibility.
