Job Title: Early Years Room Leader - SEN Provision

Location: Mainstream School, Westminster, London

Start Date: April 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Room Leader to join a SEN provision within a mainstream school in Westminster. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the Early Years setting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of dedicated staff in providing high-quality care and education to children with SEN, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment.

2. Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement an individualized curriculum that caters to the specific needs of children with SEN, in alignment with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

3. Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess and track the progress of each child, working closely with parents, support staff, and external professionals to ensure personalized developmental goals are achieved.

4. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and external specialists to create a holistic support system for children with SEN.

5. Parental Engagement: Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in the decision-making process.

6. Inclusive Practice: Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment, adapting resources and strategies to meet the diverse needs of children with SEN.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) or equivalent.
• Substantial experience working in an Early Years setting, preferably within a SEN provision.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and SEN principles.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
