Job description

Clinical Exercise full responsibility and autonomy for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people referred to LPFT CAMHS-EDS, and their carers and families, where the presenting difficulties and concerns can be managed as a psychologically based intervention. Work as the sole clinician, or in conjunction with other colleagues. To act as Case Coordinator/ Lead Professional where appropriate. To be a facilitator providing therapy and psychoeducation interventions to groups of children, young people, carers. Experience in and ability to provide at least 2 of the following therapeutic interventions: Family Based Therapy (FBT). Cognitive-behaviour therapy Interpersonal Psychotherapy FOR Adolescent (IPT-A). Systemic work with families and other involved agencies. Solution focused therapies. Creative therapies. Relaxation and visualisation techniques. Post Trauma therapy . Teaching, training and supervision To receive regular clinical and line management supervision. To assist in providing specialist placements to students/ trainees as appropriate. To provide psychologically informed advice, consultation, training and supervision to other CAMHS staff, and partner agencies. To assist with the planning, organising and provision of local and county wide in-service training and case discussion forums. Responsibilities for direct/indirect patient care To exercise full responsibility and autonomy for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people referred to LPFT CAMHS-EDS, and their carers and families, where the presenting difficulties and concerns can be managed as a psychologically based intervention. Responsibilities for policy and service development implementation. To provide and assist with the further development of EDS through input to core CAMHS, attending CAMHS team meetings and meetings for Child Psychological Therapies staff. To propose service developments and changes as appropriate. Responsible for implementing policies as set out by LPFT CYP services. Responsibilities for financial and physical resources. Responsible for alerting administrative staff if any materials, questionnaires are running low; are no longer fit for purpose. Responsibilities for human resources: Ability to supervise more junior staff; volunteers; other professionals. To provide effective supervision to more junior practitioners, volunteers and other professionals as appropriate. Responsibilities for information resources. Responsible for data entry, text processing and storage of data, using paper and computer based entry systems as indicated by LPFT Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of clinical record keeping, risk assessment and report writing.
