Field Maintenance Engineer

Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Middlesbrough.
Key duties and responsibilities....
- Carry out installation, Inspections, tests, repair, breakdowns and PPM on waste handling equipment such as Balers, Compactors, Bin lifting systems, Shredders
- Ensuring control of your own van stock to meet prompt repair deadlines
- The continued development of skills required ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard
- Report directly to the service manager and team daily, communication is a pivotal part of the operation
- Represent the company in delivering field-based customer service and product repair and servicing.
Requirements
- Extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge
- LOLER and PUWER legislation awareness
- Have a good understanding of Health and Safety and its practical implications
- CSCS preferred
- Proven experience in the fault finding, diagnosis, rectification and repair of the company product portfolio
- Enthusiastic with a friendly helpful demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills as they are the face of the company on customer sites
- Strong attention to detail to perform repairs and maintenance of machines to a high standard and the accurate completion of paperwork
- Flexible with a positive attitude to assist with various demands made on the business as nights away from home will be required
- Core maintenance experience within plant, auto or industrial machinery
- Strong general mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Have a good working knowledge and experience of installation, maintenance, inspection and breakdown repair activities in a field service environment
- Please note, a full clean UK driving licence is essential.
Hours: Normal working 40 hour week - Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and out of hours response
