UK date and time: 08-March-2024 11:46 Applicant Options New Search Login Job Details Help Terms of Use & Privacy Policy Job Details Reader Services Manager Bodleian Old Library and Radcliffe Camera, Broad St, Oxford OX1 3BG (other Humanities Libraries as required) About the role Bodleian Libraries are seeking to appoint a Reader Services Manager to join the Bodleian Library which is the largest and busiest of the Humanities Libraries and is made up of two iconic buildings: the Bodleian Old Library and Radcliffe Camera. With responsibility for the effective delivery of site-wide day-to-day operations and services of the Reader Services Department you will work constructively and flexibly across the Bodleian site and be part of the management team for section 1 Humanities (Bodleian Library and Vere Harmsworth Library). You will manage the Reader Services Team Leader and through then a team of Library Assistants. You will lead on the popular onsite scanning service Scan and Deliver and help develop services for readers with disabilities. This is a permanent, full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. About you You will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience). You will have substantial experience of working on a service point in a library or information services environment. You will have experience of managing and motivating staff and have excellent communication skills. With a proven ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in and across teams. Familiarity and experience with Alma and SOLO is desirable.
