Job Description: As a Band 7 Community Paediatric Nurse with specialised knowledge in mental health in Stafford, you will take on a leadership role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to children and adolescents with mental health challenges. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in improving the mental well-being of our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of paediatric nurses, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the highest standard of care.

  2. Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct complex assessments of the mental health needs of children and adolescents, devising individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

  3. Advanced Mental Health Nursing: Offer advanced nursing care for a diverse range of mental health conditions, involving complex assessment, intervention, and evaluation of care.

  4. Medication Management: Administer and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring safe and effective use, while educating patients and their families about the medications.

  5. Crisis Response: Be prepared to manage complex mental health crises, providing immediate support during acute episodes and collaborating with emergency psychiatric services as required.

  6. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and educators, to ensure holistic and patient-centered care.

  7. Family Education and Support: Provide advanced education and support to patients and their families to enhance their understanding and management of mental health conditions.

  8. Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintain comprehensive and meticulous patient records, ensuring compliance with NHS and healthcare standards. Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

  9. Health Promotion: Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health promotion initiatives within the community, focusing on prevention and early intervention.
