Cycle Training Instructor
Temporary, Part Time
From £12 per hour

Working Style: Community-based worker
We are currently recruiting for Cycle Training Instructors, both qualified and unqualified, in the following locations throughout Essex, but specifically the locations below.
The pay rate for this position is £12 per hour for unqualified instructors and £12.79 for qualified instructors. Pending April pay review. Y ou should expect to work a minimum of 2 days per working week. You will be required to work some weekends and evenings.
Applicants must be 18+ and will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
The Opportunity
We are currently looking for competent, passionate cyclists, who enjoy working with other people and sharing their skills and enthusiasm. You must be willing to travel throughout Essex and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. This is a very rewarding role with our instructors receiving the opportunity to encourage learners to be fit, healthy and environment friendly all during a fun activity.
In this role you will be required to adhere to road safety law as you do in your daily life. You should be able to plan and organise courses alongside demonstrating reliability and efficient time keeping in your role, experience of cycling and awareness of potential hazards are also required.
You will be delivering positive skills that our learners will be equipped with for the rest of their lives.
You will be trained to National Standards, on a three-day course provided by Essex County Council. You will be required to attain full accreditation in 1st4sport’s Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training within 12 months of starting employment. The course will be delivered over three days, with online modules to be completed prior to in person training course. If you are successful, you must be available to attend the three-day course, which will take place on 22 nd to 24 th April inclusive, venue to be confirmed.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex, by bike and/or public transport where practicable. We will try where possible to assign you within your local area, but you may be expected at times, to travel further afield. You must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
