Job description
A global leader in manufacturing products is seeking an astute, detail-oriented, and personable Accounts Assistant to join their team! The business has been in operation for over 80 years and this role has come about as the previous Accounts Assistant has been promoted internally, so there are many opportunities for career progression and growth!
This role is based onsite in St Austell 5 days a week, however, there is flexibility with having condensed hours (Mon-Thurs are 8am-5pm, Fridays are 8am-12pm - this could be condensed to a longer working 4 day week instead if you wish).
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for financial matters primarily involving purchase ledger and credit control. This includes setting up new customers, ensuring invoices are paid on time, chasing any outstanding debts, raising credit notes, cash posting, and reconciling the sales ledger every month.
Additionally, you will be required to match invoices to deliveries, partake in the reconciliation of suppliers' accounts with statements, reconcile the purchase ledger monthly, process payments, and post invoices to the bespoke accountancy system. You will also be required to assist the finance department with preparing budgets, records, and statements, creating and updating Excel spreadsheets daily, and maintaining records for all transactions.
To be considered, you must have prior experience within an Accounts role and have strong MS Excel skills (formulas, v-lookup, pivot tables, etc).
