Job description

My client, a global consumer brand near Wrexham, is recruiting a Business Development Manager (Consumer Products) to work alongside Global Sales team to prospect & onboard new customers globally.

Working across multiple channels which the business services, to develop and implement a growth strategy focused on driving incremental revenue for the business. This will include prospecting & management of high valued sales accounts and strategically developing sales and marketing campaigns to support the development of these assigned channels’ accounts and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop & implement a multi-channel growth strategy focused on driving incremental revenue and increased brand presence.

Prospect, onboard & manage global customer accounts to achieve /exceed the monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales revenue budget targets.

Effectively promote the business and its brand(s) within the global market.

Develop with Sales Team and Sales Director the yearly assigned channels’ sales forecast and ensuring the active management of the rolling forecast.

Delivering progress updates on new business including channel performance, customer strategies and market trends.

Ensure new commercial agreements are reviewed and negotiated.

Responsible for development and active management of all customer relationships via various strategic planning documents (CRM, Brand Plans, Rolling Forecast, Sales Strategic Plan, Quarterly Reporting).

Effectively communicate the strategic value proposition through all account presentations and proposals.

Collaborate with the global sales teams to ensure alignment in global sales strategy.

Work as part of the Sales Team with all departments in the business and lead the teams in collaboration, problem solving, consistent communication and elimination of all pinch points impacting business progress to ensure customer/market demands are met.

Work with the wider Global Sales Team to identify and regularly provide Product Development team with potential new growth areas or concepts and trends within the industry.

Make considered recommendations where applicable through the idea submission process.

Work closely with other departments including Marketing Communications and Product Development to develop strong customer campaigns which will strengthen the brands position in the market.

Supporting Supply Chain with visibility of customer pre-orders and forecasting for peak periods of demands based on seasonality or events promoting a balanced and health supply and reducing potential out of stocks.

Have a full understanding of the overall Sales Department processes and be cross trained on all channels to support when needed.

Skills Required:

Must have recent experience working in a similar Sales/National Accounts/Business Development role, within retail or consumer products

Prior experience of managing Key & National Accounts – consumer goods/products, is preferred

Global new business development experience would be desirable

Experience of working with major retailers is preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills is key

Excellent presentation skills.

Must be proficient in reporting and data analysis

Excellent attention to detail

Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Must have strong sales reporting, financial and budgeting skills

Must be organised and have excellent time management and prioritisation skills

Highly self-motivated to set and achieve goals

Possess the ability to work to a very high standard whilst under pressure

Must hold a Full UK driving license

May be travel once every quarter (European/Over seas customers)

Salary up to £55k basic + Performance Related Bonus

25 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing to 28 days after 3 years’ service

Hybrid working, 3 days in office (5 hours in office, 3 hours any location), 2 days at home, flexible working hours Monday – Friday
