Job description
Royal HaskoningDHV has been connecting people for 140 years. Together, through our expertise and passion, we have helped contribute to a better society and improved people’s lives with work underpinned by our sustainable values and goals. We are an independent international engineering and project management consultancy leading the way in sustainable development and innovation.
Royal HaskoningDHV is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions. Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences. We recognise that embracing diversity unlocks innovation and creativity and fosters collaboration. We want our employees to reflect the diversity of our communities and the customers we serve.
We are home to one of the world’s largest groups of maritime consulting engineers and a leader in port and infrastructure development on multiple continents. We’re helping ports and shipyards realise their digitalisation and automation ambitions, as they face growing pressure to become more streamlined and environmentally conscious. We see immediate opportunities for such ambitions to drive and benefit from significant added value in our clients’ asset lifecycles, in terms of efficiency, ROI, and sustainability.
Our maritime experts understand clients’ economic realities and the need to unlock these opportunities in ways that last. By integrating our deep domain experience, technology, and specialist partners, and working with our clients, we deliver solutions that are smart and robust – from optimising existing terminals and refurbishing or creating new port facilities, to improving operating models and how data is used.
We are a specialist team of coastal engineers and modellers who provide effective solutions on worldwide coastal projects ranging from flooding and erosion problems, amenity/tourist schemes through to port and industrial developments. The team has the knowledge and experience to complete all stages of a project from data gathering and interpretation; specification and supervision of site surveys; numerical modelling of waves, tides and sediments; to the design, procurement and construction supervision of coastal structures. Our engineers also have wide experience in the design and rehabilitation of rubble mound breakwaters and the specification and supervision scale physical model tests.
Our Technical Director will provide managerial, technical and marketing support to the UK Coastal Team and also provide specialist coastal support and input to our worldwide Maritime Teams.
We are looking for someone to act as a subject matter expert and provide advice and guidance on the delivery of coastal studies and designs and also the knowledge and experience to provide a link between our numerical modellers and design teams.
