Business Development Manager (Lamination/Commercial Digital Print)

Job description
UBT are currently working with an established growing family run SME business which has an exciting new venture. For many years they have partnered with a specialist Digital Printing business in the US which provides lamination solutions for revolutionising digital photo products, flexible packaging & labels and on-demand books (with the likes of Amazon) and are now looking to enhance the service offering within the UK and EU. As such the business are now looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager who has significant experience within commercial lamination/print. The role will target businesses across the UK and the EU so will require significant travel to win business and essentially partner with target companies. This is an exciting opportunity which in return offers a very competitive salary, benefits and bonus including progression opportunities within an ever growing business - experience with flexpack, label, and commercial print is a prerequisite and a demonstrable track record in building new sales with a technical product in a fast-moving market.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and annual sales activity plan and forecasts for assigned territory including targeting Ideal Customer Profile as high priority prospects.
- Utilise consultative selling skills to understand and meet or exceed customer’s business needs, incorporate our product and services into solutions.
- Organise internal resources to develop comprehensive strategic account plans- expertise in retaining and growing within accounts.
- Understand the customer’s buying process-able to understand customer’s buying motives, both personal and business.
- Build strong customer relationships.
- Seek to understand customer needs before presenting solutions.
- Maintain high level of current and prospective contacts daily via face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, emails, telephone, etc.
- Maintain current record of contacts, sales visit notes, sales activities, and opportunities in Salesforce.com
- Work collaboratively with all internal partners to meet customer needs.
- Regularly initiate follow-up with both internal and external contacts to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Understand and concisely communicate company’s value proposition and USP’s to gain confidence with the customer.
- Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for revenue generation and profit improvement.
- Report results of sales activities to Manager on a regular basis and in weekly 1:1 meetings.
- Consistently strategize with Manager to ensure sales effectiveness and gain insight into strategies needed to close or penetrate challenging accounts. Implement strategies on a timely basis.
- Attends and actively contributes to weekly 1:1 meetings, scheduled sales meetings, and sales training sessions.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
- Experience with flexpack, label, and commercial print is a prerequisite and a demonstrable track record in building new sales with a technical product in a fast-moving market is essential
- Good negotiation skills, ensuring best outcomes.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and to stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks quickly and appropriately.
- Competent computer skills and familiar with MS Office.
- Ability to travel throughout UK and Europe.
- Professional sales experience of 2 years minimum.
- Experience in flexible packaging industry
- A-level education or equivalent by experience.
- Full clean Driving Licence.

- £65,000 - £75,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
